Sarah began her career with the NBA in 2019 as Director for EMEA. Over the past 5 years Sarah has built an International Security Department to meet the exponential growth of the NBA footprint outside of the US.

Sarah also currently holds the position of Head of Operations and Administration for the Basketball Africa League (BAL), the first professional basketball league operated by the NBA outside of the US. Prior to the NBA Sarah completed 17 years with the Metropolitan Police, working across a range of departments, concluding in Royalty and Specialist Protection, as the team leader for the then Duke and Duchess of Sussex. 

Sarah’s passion focuses heavily upon partnership working with local security vendors and networks, building best practices, resilience and effective intelligence sharing.

Country Security Manager, Iraq – SPM Oil & Gas (subsidiary of Caterpillar)

Paul has more than two decades of expertise in the security domain. He began his career serving as a Royal Marines Commando before transitioning into the private security sector. For the last 13 years, he has concentrated his efforts in Iraq, where he has delivered security strategies aligned with the needs of clients in diverse sectors, including Government, Logistics, Oil & Gas, NGO, and Construction. Paul holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, ASIS Certified Protection Professional designation and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in International Security and Risk Management at the University of West London.

Senior Business Resilience Manager – Europe and IMEA, Marsh McLennan

Currently working in Business Resiliency Management with Marsh McLennan, with responsibilities in MEA and Europe, Maria comes from a background in corporate security and risk management with Deutsche Bank, as well as analysis and investigations with Sibylline, Interpol and Cambridgeshire Police in the UK. A strong promoter of the importance of public–private partnerships, Maria served as the private Co-Chair of Dubai OSAC during the COVID-19 pandemic and remains on the Steering Committee to date.

Howard is the Managing Director of ESID DMCC, a Special Situations and Global Consultancy company based in Dubai. He is a former UK Special Forces Officer and Royal Navy Commando Pilot who subsequently diversified at C-level into the financial, aviation and security sectors. He has lived and worked in the Middle East for much of the past 15-years and is a licensed “Security Expert” with the Security Industry Regulatory Authority. He is a member of the Security Professionals Association and was the Industry Ambassador to Intersec 2022.

Edouard joined Deutsche Bank in 2017 after 16 years in the private security business. Since joining DB, Edouard has been responsible for its Travel Security Programme in the MEA region, as well as in Pakistan, Israel and Ukraine, ensuring DB staff can safely undertake business travel in the region. He works closely with business lines and infrastructure functions to provide advice and support on any physical security matter. The Corporate Security function at DB ensures security of physical assets and people. It provides operational security and security systems and infrastructure, travel security, health and safety oversight, security investigations, as well as executive and event protection.

Lorraine Adkins is the Interim Director Campus Safety Operations at NYUAD, with a wide remit covering emergency management, business continuity and all aspects of the physical security operations spectrum. 

Lorraine is a retired British Army Officer who served for 26 years in British Military Intelligence. During a successful military career, Lorraine saw active service in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Afghanistan and completed two operational tours in Iraq. 

Lorraine was awarded the Member of the British Empire (MBE) medal in 1993 for her contribution to Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, while working as a security and intelligence analyst at the UK Ministry of Defense in Whitehall, London.

Dana is a senior security professional for corporate physical, information and cybersecurity and business continuity management, building effective and compliant security capabilities that are integrated with enterprise risk management and business objectives.

In her current role as an external CISO at Help AG, the Cyber Security arm of the e& Enterprise, she leads and advises on the Information & Cyber Security Program for a high-profile government project. Previously she designed and implemented a Security Risk Management Framework and Business Continuity Management Program for a leading Critical Infrastructure company to support the UAE’s vision.

Mike Latza, based in Dubai, is responsible for protecting Mastercard critical assets and assisting the business to build trust in the cyber domain so we can secure the world beyond cash for the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Prior to his current role, Mike served 8 years as a Special Agent in the U.S. State Department Diplomatic Security Service at various locations domestically and throughout the Middle East & Africa. Mike also served as a U.S. Army Engineer officer in Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Mike holds the Certified Protection Professional designation from the American Society for Industrialized Security, the Certified Information Security Manager certification from ISACA, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Dayton, Ohio.
